My daily experiences are my Writing Prompts for writing online
Write every day about anything you want
I’ve learned to be more in tune with what I experience daily. Writing prompts are all around if we take notice. I cook at home, but I also eat out often. I never really noticed my experiences at restaurants and eateries are excellent writing prompts. NewsBreak is the platform where I write all my reviews on eateries.
Medium is a platform where I write about anything and everything. If I have a terrible day at work, I write a digestible version on Medium. However, I try not to write them too often because it becomes a rant. When I go grocery shopping, I sometimes notice things I see and write them down or remember them for later writing prompts.
For example, I didn’t know I could check my tire pressure for free at Costco until recently. I was waiting in line for one of the workers to check my tire pressure when someone saw me waiting. This person passed me and checked his tire pressure using the Costco gauge. I did the same after the person but didn’t know how to check the meter. Thankfully, a worker saw me having difficulty and showed me how to use their tire pressure gauge. All I had to do was set the pressure, hook the device onto my tire, and it did the rest.
Takeaway
I’ve learned to be more observant during the day. I take notes if I have to, or I use my experiences as writing prompts. Medium doesn’t pay well, but it gives me a platform to write and build my portfolio. Writing prompts are all around us. All I need to do is write about it. Some articles will work out and do well, and some won’t. My daily experiences are my writing prompts.
